Drawing & Annotations
Band Central (version 3.5 and later) lets you draw, highlight, and add typed notes right on top of any PDF chart or ChordPro lyric — great for marking cuts, repeats, cues, and rehearsal notes. Drawing is an iOS and Android feature.
Turn on drawing mode
Open a song and view its chart or ChordPro lyric, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Annotate. Pick a tool, color, and line size, then draw with your finger, an Apple Pencil, or a stylus. Tap Done when finished; your marks save automatically and stay with the song.
Tools
When you choose Annotate, a toolbar appears with four tools, a 10-color palette, and several line thicknesses:

- Pen — a solid line for writing and circling.
- Highlighter — a translucent line for chords or lyrics.
- Eraser — removes a whole stroke when you tap it.
- Text note — a typed, movable note box.
Shared with your band
Annotations are shared with the whole band per chart — everyone who opens that chart sees the same marks, and anyone can add to them. Online, changes appear on bandmates' devices in real time; offline, your marks save on your device and sync next time you have a connection.
Erase, undo, and clear
Use the Eraser and tap a stroke to remove that whole stroke, tap Undo to remove your most recent stroke, or open the tool menu and choose Clear all annotations to wipe every mark on the chart. Your last-used tool, color, and line size are remembered for next time.
Marks stay put when the text reflows
On a ChordPro lyric, your marks anchor to the line of text they sit on — so they stay in the right place when the words reflow, when you change the Text Size, or when you open the song on a different device or screen size.
Your original file is safe
Annotations are an overlay — your original PDF and any Dropbox file are never modified. To send or print a marked-up copy, use Share / Print, which bakes your marks into a separate flattened copy and leaves the source untouched. Drawing is not available on the website yet.
