Band Central for iOS 3.5
June 2026
Band Central 3.5 for iPhone and iPad brings the most-requested feature on the list: drawing and markup. You can now write, highlight, and add notes right on top of your charts, and your whole band sees the same marks. Here is everything in the release.
New: Drawing & markup on your charts
- Draw on PDF and ChordPro lyrics. Open any PDF chart or ChordPro lyric, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Annotate. Mark up the chart with your finger or an Apple Pencil.
- Pen, highlighter, eraser, and text notes. Use a solid pen for circling and writing, a translucent highlighter for chords and lyrics, an eraser that lifts a whole stroke, and typed text notes you can drag, edit, and delete. Pick from 10 colors and several line sizes.
- Shared with your band, in real time. Annotations are one shared set per chart, so everyone in the band sees and can add to the same marks. When you are online, changes appear on your bandmates' devices live; offline, they save on your device and sync when you reconnect.
- Reflow-safe on ChordPro. Marks on a ChordPro lyric anchor to the line they sit on, so they stay in place when text reflows, when you change the Text Size, or when you open the song on another device.
- Your original file is never changed. Annotations are an overlay -- your source PDF and any Dropbox file are left exactly as they were.
- Export, print, or share a marked-up PDF. From the annotation toolbar, share a flattened PDF copy with your marks baked in -- AirDrop or email it, save it to Files, or send it to a printer. The export is a copy; your source file stays untouched.
Improvements & fixes
- Adding a lyric makes it your default. When you add a new lyric version it becomes your default for that song and your previous default is cleared in the same step, so you always have exactly one starred lyric per song.
- New lyrics are pre-named. A new lyric is suggested as "Version 2," "Version 3," and so on, matching Android.
How to get it
Open the App Store, search for Band Central, and tap Update. If the new version isn't visible yet, give it a few hours to roll out across regions.
