iOS Release Notes

Updates released on the App Store for Band Central on iPhone and iPad.

Band Central for iOS 3.70

July 7, 2026

  • A new setlist navigation bar at the top of the lyric view shows the previous and next song while you play, with the song position in the middle -- tap either side to jump.
  • Invite band members by email even if they do not have a Band Central account yet: they get an invite link and join your band automatically when they sign up.
  • Chord diagrams add three instruments -- Mandolin (GDAE), Bouzouki (Irish GDAD), and Piano -- plus a Labels setting for fingering numbers, note names, intervals, or plain dots with the root marked.
  • Adding songs got faster: use Add to Setlist from any song in the catalog to drop a song into one or more setlists, or add songs from the catalog without leaving the lyric view, inserted right after the song you are on.
  • Attach a YouTube link to a lyric and open it in one tap; songs without a link open a YouTube search for the song and artist.
  • The Display menu was reorganized with a Show submenu for the title, key, tempo, chords, and navigation bar toggles, and it now appears on PDF and document lyrics too.
  • Foot pedal fixes: holding the pedal a moment too long no longer skips ahead two sections or songs.
  • Also fixed: lyric search import getting stuck when offline mode is on, annotation sync edge cases, and a bug that could reset a paid band plan when saving band settings.

Band Central for iOS 3.6

June 28, 2026

  • Chord diagrams arrive. Band Central now draws fretboard chord diagrams for the chords in your ChordPro lyrics.
  • Choose how you see them: a Chord summary of every chord at the top of the song, Inline diagrams above each chord, or a pinned Bottom, Top, or Right strip that stays in view as you scroll.
  • Switch between guitar and ukulele, turn on left-handed shapes, make diagrams capo-aware so a capoed song shows the shape you actually play, adjust the size, and tap any chord to flip through alternate voicings and pick the one you use.
  • Diagrams follow the Transpose tool, and a ChordPro define directive in your song sets a custom shape.
  • Your choices are saved with each lyric and sync across your devices.

Band Central for iOS 3.51

June 2026

  • Fixes a launch crash on iPhones and iPads running iOS 16, where the app could close immediately on open.
  • Annotations you draw on an iPhone or iPad now line up correctly when the same ChordPro lyric is opened on Android, and your saved annotations load every time you reopen a song.
  • Long-press a comment or a text note on a lyric to edit it directly.
  • The side menu has been redesigned to match the iPhone and iPad, with your band name plus song and setlist counts at the top, and your name, plan, and app version at the bottom.
  • Help now opens inside the app instead of jumping out to your browser.

Band Central for iOS 3.5

June 2026

  • Drawing and markup arrives. Mark up any PDF chart or ChordPro lyric with a pen, highlighter, eraser, and movable text notes in 10 colors -- great for cuts, repeats, key changes, and cues.
  • Your marks are shared with the whole band and sync in real time, and they never change your original file.
  • You can also export, print, or share a flattened PDF copy with your annotations baked in.
  • Adding a lyric now makes it your default and clears the old one.

Band Central for iOS 3.0.1

June 2026

  • Setlists now rearrange only after you tap Reorder, so songs do not move by accident.
  • The Songs A-Z index now shows non-Latin letters (such as Greek) instead of grouping them under "#".
  • Import now accepts more ChordPro file types (.cho, .crd, .chordpro, and more).
  • In Page Sections, each section is a fixed page that fits the screen, and a foot pedal moves one section at a time.
  • The free plan now includes up to 50 songs (up from 25).
  • Band cards now show your plan as a label.

Band Central for iOS 2.1.2

May 2026

  • Setlist total time no longer includes break duration.
  • Setlists over one hour now display as H:MM:SS.
  • Chord charts now render correctly for section names like "Verse (x2)", "Chorus 2a", or "Solo - Joe".
  • Importing lyrics from Ultimate Guitar now works correctly.
  • Break rows now show the running set time up to that point.
  • Small Band plan raised to 6 members.

Band Central for iOS 2.1.1

  • A-Z alphabet scroller and a 9-field Sort By menu on Songs.
  • Swipe between songs from both the Songs list and the Lyrics list.
  • Bluetooth pedal navigation restored.
  • Greek lyric rendering fix on iPad.
  • Setlist sort that matches the editor.
