Managing Songs

Your songs live in one shared band library. Everyone in the band sees the same songs, and edits sync to everyone automatically.

The Songs list in Band Central showing songs with artist, key, duration, tempo, and tagsThe Songs list shows each song's key, duration, tempo, and tags at a glance. Tap the info button on the right to open a song's actions.

Add a song

Tap the + on the Songs tab (or Add Song on the website) and fill in as much or as little as you like:
  • Title and artist (the only fields you really need to start).
  • Key and tempo (BPM) — these feed the key/tempo header, the metronome, and your setlist views.
  • Time signature, duration (used for setlist running time), genre, and tags.
From the song you can also add one or more lyric versions and attach a PDF or audio file. You can leave anything blank and fill it in later.

Edit a song

Open a song and tap the edit (pencil) icon — or click a song on the website — to change its details, key, tempo, or other fields. Changes sync to the rest of your band automatically. Editing a song's key or tempo also updates that song wherever it appears in your setlists (unless you have set a per-setlist override).

Search and filter

Use the search bar at the top of the Songs list to search by title or artist — search ignores accents, so "cafe" finds "café." Tap the filter icon to narrow the list by one or more tags, and use the A-Z index down the side to jump through a large library.

Import songs

Bring songs in several ways:
  • Spreadsheet / CSV (website) — paste a spreadsheet of songs, map the columns, and import.
  • Text & ChordPro files — import lyric and chart files from Dropbox.
  • From Setlist Helper — follow the Migration Guide.
Run any import on one device; your others fill in through sync.
