av_timer Metronome

Open a song and tap the metronome icon. It uses that song's tempo (BPM) and time signature, accents beat 1 of each measure, and shows a beat indicator. Because the tempo lives on the song, every song clicks at its own speed automatically.

You can size the on-screen metronome to taste. The large metronome is an easy-to-read circular beat display; the compact metronome is a small indicator that stays out of the way of your lyrics. Both flash on the beat and show the tempo.

Edit the song and enter the BPM, or use Tap Tempo — tap the button in time with the song and Band Central works out the BPM for you. The metronome supports roughly 30 to 300 BPM.

Set the time signature on the song (4/4, 3/4, 6/8, and so on) and the metronome accents the downbeat to match. You can also choose from several click sounds and adjust the size of the on-screen metronome. A beat indicator flashes on each beat so you can follow it visually as well as by ear.

You can have the metronome count you in before the song begins. In Configure Play Button › Metronome Options, set the number of measures to count before starting — 0 means no count-in. This is handy when you trigger the metronome with the play button or a foot pedal and want a bar or two of clicks before the first downbeat.

To start the click from the play button, a double-tap on the lyrics, or a foot pedal, open Configure Play Button and set Also Start to Metronome. The metronome and the audio player are mutually exclusive — starting one stops the other.
