Website Help
Getting Started
Band Central's website at www.bandcentral.com works in any modern desktop or mobile browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge (latest two major versions of each). No downloads or installs required; sign in and go. On Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, or Linux, the website is your full-featured option since there's no native desktop app.
Visit bandcentral.com and click "Login." You can sign in with Google or with your email address. If you don't already have an account, one will be created automatically when you sign in. Your email address is what identifies your account — if your email is banduser@gmail.com, signing in with Google or Email using that address will connect to the same account.
If you sign in with Email, click "Forgot Password" on the email sign-in screen to receive a password reset email. If you use Sign in with Google, your password is managed by Google instead.
Bands
After signing in, click "Create Band" on the dashboard. Enter your band name and any details. You'll be the owner of the band and can add other members.
Only the band owner can add or remove members. Go to Bands and click Users. The member must already have a Band Central account — once they create their account, the owner can search for them and add them to the band.
If you belong to multiple bands, use the band selector on the dashboard to switch between them. Each band has its own set of songs, setlists, and tags.
Subscriptions
Only the band owner needs to subscribe. When the owner subscribes, all members of that band get the full subscription features. The owner's subscription covers everyone in the band.
Each band has its own subscription level based on what the band owner has purchased. You may be a member of a band with a paid subscription and also own a separate band on the free tier. You'll see an indicator on each band showing its subscription level.
The free tier allows 1 band with up to 25 songs and 5 setlists. Upgrading to a paid subscription removes these limits and unlocks additional bands and members depending on the plan.
Songs
Navigate to the Songs section and click the "Add Song" button. Enter the song title, artist, lyrics, tempo, and any other details.
Click on any song to open it, then click the edit button to modify the song details, lyrics, or other fields.
The Songs section shows all songs in your band. You can search, sort, and filter songs. Click on a song to view its details, edit it, or delete it (owner only).
Setlists
Go to the Setlists section and click "Add Setlist." Give it a name, then add songs from your band's song library.
Open a setlist to view its songs. You can reorder songs by dragging, add or remove songs, and edit the setlist name. Changes sync to all band members automatically.
Tags
Go to the Tags section to create, edit, and delete tags. Tags help organize your songs by genre, mood, difficulty, or any category you choose.
Edit a song and use the Tags field to assign one or more tags. You can then filter the song list by tag to quickly find songs in a category.
Import
If you're migrating from the Setlist Helper app, see our detailed Migration Guide for step-by-step instructions on importing your data into Band Central.
On your band card, click the "Import" button. You can import songs, lyrics, and documents from Dropbox. Place your files in a Dropbox folder before starting the import.
Account Settings
Click on your profile icon and go to Account Settings. You can update your display name and profile information.
In Account Settings, you can customize display preferences such as default views and other options to personalize your experience.
